Hello out there!  It’s great to have this opportunity to chat with you, and if we’ve never met, then I hope we do soon!  Welcome to Absolute Photography.

Absolute consists of two photographers — Jason and Heather.  Yes, we are a couple, (sorry boys, Heather’s taken) and we have a large, wonderful family.  How large, you ask?  4 children and 1 cat– they definitely keep us busy!

So it should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway, we are very family oriented  (in our type  of work, how could you not be??) so don’t be surprised if you sometimes stop at the studio and we’re not there! We are open by appointment only, not only so that we can spend as much free time as we can with our family, but so that when you do come in for an appointment, consultation or viewing, we can give you our undivided attention.  As a general rule, it’s always a good idea to call ahead because we are often photographing on location, or maybe we’re at the  pool with the kids.

 We both went to school for fine art black and white photography (think darkroom)  – in fact, that’s where we met! What we try to do at Absolute is take our  background in fine art  photography, throw it in a bag with classic portraiture, add  in some spice and grit, and come up with a fun blend of portraiture that’s different,  always evolving, and captures every client as an individual, not as a grouping of  poses.

We are runners and cyclists and swimmers.  We love the outdoors: hiking, geocaching, mountain biking and skiing.  Jason has competed in 4 triathlons, 2 duathlons and several adventure races.  He is a proud member of the Cross Country Cycle Triathlon Team.  Heather is a long distance runner who, in addition to crushing it at many of the local 5k races, has just completed her first marathon at the 2011 Grand Rapids Marathon!  When you come in, please share with us a little about your life, your family and yourself, we’d love to get to know you!
