Jason and I had the extreme honor of photographing the first LGBT wedding in Ottawa County. The ladies were married in a beautiful, formal ceremony previously, but jumped at the chance to make it official after the SCOTUS decision came back on June 26th. We met them at the court house along with Reverend Cheryl Hooten from Dream Day Weddings in Saugatuck. The paperwork was completed and the ceremony was held outside of the county clerks office in West Olive. County workers watched from windows and a few even came outside and cheered and clapped the newly legally married couple!
Congratulations to you both!
6th Annual Easter Bunny Portrait Event
March 28th, 2015 | 10am to 2pm
$5 per child
(Want to see more portraits from previous Easter Bunny events? Keep scrolling to the bottom of this post!)
If you are not familiar with this event, let me explain! Each year we provide cute, fluffy baby bunnies and baby chicks for a unique photo shoot for your children.
The cost is $5 per child to reserve your spot. At the event, we highly encourage you to donate an additional $5 per child to charity (there will be a separate container at the desk for your donation) and in exchange for your donation, we will give you a FREE 5×7 portrait.
Pre-registration is now full for 2015. We will again accept walk-ins this year. If you choose to walk-in, you will still need to pay the $5/child mini-session fee and donate $5 for the free 5×7.
now closed for 2015
Q. If all your pre-registration slots are full, are you going to be able to fit walk-ins into the schedule?
A. Yes! Our schedule will permit approximately one walk-in in between every scheduled pre-registration time. There may be a wait for walk-ins depending on how many show up within a certain amount of time. We were amazed by the response we received last year, and are planning to make sure that we keep a good flow going through the studio again this year.
Q. Can I purchase additional prints afterwards?
A. Yes, you may! We will have special package deals available for purchase the day of the event.
$35 (saving of $13!)
$55 (saving of $25!)
Digital Image w/ printing rights
$40 per image (savings of $20!)
Purchase of prints after the event will be at our typical studio prices.
Q. I just had my first baby and wanted to know if you could photograph my newborn with the bunnies for her first Easter?
A. Congratulations on your new little one! While we photograph MANY newborns and would love to schedule you a regular session, this event is only appropriate for babies who are comfy and able to support their heads on their belly (approximately ages 3-4 months) and older children who are able to sit unassisted.
Q. I have 3 children and would like a photo of them all together with the baby bunny. Is this possible?
A. Definitely! The cost will be $5 per child, regardless of how many children are in the portrait. For each $5 donation to charity at the event, we will give you a free 5×7.
Q. I’m going to be out of town the day of your fundraiser. Can I schedule a regular session with the bunnies and chicks for my children?
A. I’m so sorry, but this is a one day only event! We hope that you are able to make it next year!
Q. I didn’t pre-register, can I still have my children’s portraits done with the bunny?
A. ABSOLUTELY! The pre-registration allows you to schedule a time for your mini-session. Basically, this means you get to “cut in line” at your pre-scheduled time! We will definitely accept walk-ins and will squeeze people in where ever we can!
Q. My child isn’t very comfortable with strangers. Or animals. How do you handle cranky kids??
A. There are usually a handful of children every year who are not comfortable with the bunny. We found that those who didn’t like the bunny, didn’t mind the baby chicks! If your child has a melt down, we recommend hanging out in the lobby for a while until they become more comfortable. We will let someone else go ahead of you and try again in a little bit.
Q. What happens to the animals after the shoot?
A. We are extremely careful with the bunnies and chicks during the shoot. Their safety and the safety of your children are our number one priority! We have never had any injuries during our shoots and plan to keep it that way! We highly recommend using hand sanitizer after handling the animals. After the shoot, the bunnies will return home with us. The chicks have already found their forever home and will join all the egg layers from last year!
If you have any additional questions regarding this event, please let me know! We are SUPER excited for this event and are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new!
