Just wanted to share a little bit of adorable with you today! Hope that you all have a great Easter holiday!

Last summer, Heather told me about a “cool new zoo,” that she had just heard about. She suggested we take the kids out to check it out. I agreed, and I am so glad we did! The place is Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park, in Alto. It was about a 30 minute drive for us but worth every minute! This is like a petting zoo mixed with an exotic animal park, where you can really get close to the animals!
We had so much fun checking out the awesome animals, and photographing them as we went. I was able to get up close and personal with the Ring-Tailed Lemurs and Serval Cats, thanks to one of our new friends, Rick the Reptile Guy.
They have an awesome parakeet enclosure where the birds will actually come perch right on you to eat birdfeed off a Popsicle stick, so cool!
After having a blast out at Boulder Ridge, we kept in touch with Rick and he came down to the studio. He didn’t come alone though! Enter the giant Monitor and 16 foot Reticulated Python!
While the Python behaved for Rick, I’m quite sure she was trying to kill me! I guess that’s why he’s the Reptile Guy and not me!

This is why I love my job!
I’m still in shock by the turnout we saw yesterday! We saw 61 children in the studio and raised a record amount of donations for the Holland Community Action House. You all were AMAZING!
The free 5×7’s have been ordered and those who participated should have received an email this morning with how to view all the images online. (Didn’t receive it? Send us an email and let us know– I had several bounce back.) You can also order additional prints online or in studio. PLUS, there is still time to get prints in for Easter! If you’d like to order in studio, please call ahead to schedule an appointment.

I was very honored to have the opportunity to photograph the maternity session for our very good friends, Jason and Kate. They are expecting their first little one in April (maybe sooner?) and I CAN’T wait to meet her!
The majority of our maternity sessions are photographed by (my) Jason in the studio as part of the New Baby Club. This time, however, I was left to my own devices both in and out of the studio!
